** Preparing
the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |
Start by cutting your Color
1 3" x 6" strip into two 3" squares, then stack and
bisect these diagonally... |
Next cut the Color 1 3-1/2" x 14" strip into four 3-1/2" squares... |
Next cut the Color 3
3-7/8" x 7-3/4" strip into two 3-7/8" squares, and stack then bisect them on
the diagonal... |
Now cut the Color 3
2" x 24" strip into twelve 2" squares, and then the Color 2 2" x
8" strip into four 2" squares... |
To make the center unit,
Sew a Color 1 triangle to the top side of your Color 3 3-1/2" square, right
sides together , and using a 1/4" seam. Press seam allowances towards
triangle, then sew another triangle on the opposite corner. Then sew one on each of the two
remaining sides , pressing the last two seam allowances towards the center... |
Then, to that unit we
just made, sew a Color 3 triangle on each corner, again altering
pressing directions with each addition...on
