The first thing that I would recommend that you do,
is go to the Practice
Paper Piecing Page. When you feel comfy with paper
piecing, come on back and try a Starry Ways block! You will need to print out
one copy of the template page per block you want to make on very
lightweight paper. |

** Preparing the Pieces
and Sewing the Block ** |

Cut the Color 3 2-1/2" x 10" strip into four
2-1/2" squares...
|

Stack the Color 2 and Color 3 2-7/8" x 5-3/4" strips
and cut into two 2-7/8" squares of each. Stack the squares and
cut once on the diagonal to make four half square triangles of each.
Sew together pairs of these triangles using a 1/4" seam.
Press to darker side. These should measure 2-1/2"...

Now sew together squares and half squares to make two of the units
shown at left...

Paper piece the two alternate corner units, then sew the four units
together as shown at left. Your block is done! :o) ...on to Page
2!
