** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

 

Cut 4 diamonds and four crescents from the Color 1  4" x 14" strip, adding 3/16" - 1/4" seam allowances to each piece as you do...

 

Crease a 9" background square in both directions to locate the exact middle. Turn under the edges of the diamonds and crescents and needle turn applique in place using thread to match Color 1. Now trim the block background to 8-1/2" square, being sure to leave 1/4" beyond each diamond tip...One block is now done! ...on to Page 2!
