Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |

Cut the Color 1 1-1/4" x 5"strip into
four 1-1/4" squares. Cut the1-1/2" x 6"strip into
four 1-1/2" squares. Cut the 1-3/4" x 7" strip into
four 1-3/4"squares. Then cut the Color 1 2-1/2" x
12-1/2" strip into five 2-1/2" squares... |

Now cut the Color 2 1-1/4" x 10" strip
into four 1-1/4" x 2-1/2" rectangles. Cut the Color
2 1-1/2" x 16" strip into four 1-1/2" x 4"
rectangles. Cut the Color 2 3-1/2" x 12" strip into
four 1-3/4" x 6" rectangles. Cut the Color 2 5"
x 17" strip into four 2-1/2" x 8-1/2"
rectangles... |

Next, using corresponding size squares and rectangles,
sew squares to the ends of two of each size rectangles using a 1/4" seam, pressing seams towards squares... |

Let's start building the block! Sew two of the
smallest rectangles to the left and right of a 2-1/2" Color 1
square. Press seams to center. Now add the smallest pieced rectangle
strips to the top and bottom... |

Proceed in order, size-wise, adding the next size up
of rectangles to the sides, then the pieced strips to the top and
bottom...
