** Preparing the Pieces
And Sewing the Block **

Start by marking and cutting the
Color 1 and Color 3 3-1/2" x 10-1/2" strips into
three 3-1/2" squares of each. Mark and cut the Color 2
3-1/2" x 21" strip into six 3-1/2" squares. You also
need one 6-1/2" square of Color 1... |

To sew three of the corner
blocks, sew pairs of colored squares right sides together as shown
at left, using 1/4" seams. Press seams towards the darker
side. Sew these units together, again using 1/4" seams.
Make one unit with the Color 1 and Color 3 small squares, and two
units using Color 2 and Color 3... |

Now piece the block, sewing your
units together as shown at left! Be sure to press row seams in
opposing directions, so the seams lay nice and flat!
