** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |

Start by sewing the Color 4 1-1/2" x 18" strip to the Color 1 3-1/2" x 18" strip right sides together along one long edge in a 1/4" seam. Press to dark side. Cut apart at 4-1/2" intervals... |

Sew one Color 3, two Color 4 and one Color 1 1-1/2" x 6" strips together as shown at far left. Make two units like this. Cut apart at 1-1/2" intervals... |

Then sew one Color 3, two Color 4 and one Color 1 1-1/2" x 6" strips together as shown at far left. Make two units like this. Cut apart at 1-1/2" intervals... |

Sew the pieced units together to make two of the units shown at left... |
