It's a 12" block! Please

Conditions of use! :o) |

I Have seen
this called "Exquisite Star" and with larger corner triangles, I know of it
as "Indian Hatchet" |

** Preparing
the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |
|
 |
Start by marking and cutting your
base squares, either from a single strip 4-1/2" x 40-1/2", or from a 13-1/2" square, as shown here. You need nine 4-1/2"
squares... |
|
 |
Place a 2-1/2" calico
square aligned atop the top left corner of a base square, right sides
together. Mark the
diagonal on the BACK of the calico square, and sew them together ON this marked line; Cut
1/4" away from the sewn line and press seam allowance towards base square. Repeat
with another calico square on the opposing corner. Make NINE of these units... |
|
 |
Sew them together, first by row,
and then sew rows together, alternate pressing directions by row. Boy, WHAT A TOUGH
BLOCK!... lolol :o) ...on to Page 2! |
