** Preparing the Pieces **

 

Stack the Colors 1 , 2 and 3  3-7/8" strips . Using a rotary cutter, cut these together into 3-7/8" squares. This will yield six Color 3 squares , four Color 1 squares and two Color 2 squares.

 

 

Cut the Color 3  3-1/2" x 14" strip into four 3-1/2" squares...

 

Stack a  3-7/8" Color 1 square with a  Color 3 square , right sides together. Lightly draw a diagonal line from corner to corner. Sew 1/4" above and below this line. Cut apart on the drawn line . Press seams towards darker fabric . Repeat this with three more Color 1 , Color 3 squares , to make a total of eight half squares. These should measure 3-1/2"...

 

 

Repeat the last step with two remaining Color 3 squares and Color 2 squares , to make a total of four half squares. Press seams towards darker fabric ...on to Page 2
