** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

First, hop on over to the Applique Page, for some tips on stitches and reverse applique! We'll be following that same basic concept, but taking it a step further, working with full block sized layers of fabrics! This is a step closer to San Blas applique, the method used in making Molas!

For supplies you need one 10-1/2" square of Red, Green and Cream, and thread to match your top square...and Green embroidery floss to match your green fabric, if you choose to embroider your small stems.

Print off your template page and lay your Color 1  10-1/2" square right side up on top of it. You can use a light box, if you have one, or hold this all up to a sunny window, if you don't!...

Now trace the basic outline of the whole Rose block onto the right side of your Color 1 block. You can use just a plain pencil for this, these lines won't show...on to Page 2!
