This
makes a 12" block!
This is another simple
one, that lends itself beautifully in a wide range of fabrics. I have done several of
these as baby quilts, in ginghams and baby pastel solids....truly CUTE quilts! and Fast! |

Pinwheels just came to mind for
this months' pattern, as it is a BEAUTIFUL spring day here in Maine...kids are outside
jumping rope...somewhere, someone is making a pinwheel---I just know it! :o)

Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |
|

|
Let's start this
one, by using a rotary cutter to cut your Color 2 strip into two 6-7/8" squares... |
|
 |
Next, stack your Color 1 square
atop your Color 3 square, and again using the rotary cutter, bisect these together
diagonally...then, keeping them stacked, cut the resultant triangles across the other
way... |
|
 |
Next, stack your two Color 2
squares, and cut them diagonally into two triangles... |
|
 |
With right sides together, stack
one Color 1 and one Color 3 triangle together, and sew them on one short side, using a
1/4" seam, and being careful not to stretch fabrics. Press seam towards
darker fabric. Repeat this with all Color 1 and Color 3 triangles...on
to Page 2! |
