** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Using the template provided, cut two units from the Color 1  6" x 10" strip. Cut the Color 1  2" x 20" strip into ten 2" squares...

 

 

Now cut the Color 2  3-7/8" x 7-3/4" strip into two 3-7/8" squares. Stack the squares and cut them once on the diagonal to make four half square triangles. Cut the Color 2  2" x 16" strip into eight 2" squares...

 

 

Match the half way point of the triangle and template unit sides,  then stitch them together using a 1/4" seam allowance to make two of the units shown at left. These should measure 5" ...

 

 

Now sew together Color 1 and Color 2 squares to make two of the units shown at left. These should also measure 5"...
