To make the flying geese units, place a Color 1 small square right sides together atop a Color 2 rectangle with edges aligned. On the back of the top square lightly mark the diagonal. Sew on this marked line. Cut off the excess seam allowance. Press the remainder towards the center. Repeat this with another Color 1 square on the other end of the rectangle. Make four units like this, and four more using Color 2 squares and Color 1 rectangles. Sew pairs of  geese together as shown at left, making four units like that...

Lay out all of the unit as shown at left, with the extra Color 2  3-1/2" square as the block's center. Sew three horizontal rows, pressing the top and bottom rows to the outside, and the middle row seam to the center. join the three rows and the block is done!

This little quilt is four blocks by five with a pieced, and then a plain border!
