Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |

To make the
needed 3-1/2" squares...you will need a 14" x 3-1/2" strip of each color. Stack these together, and then using a rotary
cutter, cut into four 3-1/2" squares of each... |

Next, with
the 3-7/8" squares of Colors 1 and 3, stack these. Using a rotary cutter, cut them on
the diagonal, being careful not to stretch fabrics... |
|
|
With right
sides together, sew Color 1 and Color 3 triangles together, using a 1/4" seam.
Press seam allowances towards darker fabric... |
|
|
Now piece the
squares as shown at left, sewing four horizontal rows using 1/4"
seams. Join the resulting rows and there you have it!
