This makes a 15" block, and is part paper piecing, part regular piecing!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try an Odd Star! You will need to print out two copies of each of the units needed per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. I suggest leaving the papers on until your four corner quadrants are pieced.

In addition to your paper pieced units, you will need to cut four Color 2  3-1/2" x 6-1/2" rectangles, and one Color 1  3-1/2" square...

After all your units are paper pieced, sew them together as shown at left, using as always 1/4" seams...

Then make the blocks center column by sewing a Color 1 square right sides together to a Color 2 rectangle. Add another Color 2 rectangle to the other side of the square...

Now piece the block as shown at left...and you are done!

...on to Page 2!
