This makes a 9" block and is paper pieced !

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a North Carolina Star! You will need to print out two copies of each template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. Fat Quarters should be plenty!

After your units are paper pieced, join them as shown at left!

Here's a simple wall hanging with three blocks by three and a pieced border! Note that in the block and quilt I have the corner triangles the same color as the "blades". They don't have to be! Play around with the coloration of this one, you'll be amazed at the different quilts it will make!
