** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |
|
|
Using the template provided cut four trapezoids from Color 1... |
|
|
Cut ten four patch squares from Color 1 and from Color 3... |
|
|
Cut four Triangles B's from Color 3,and eight Triangle A's from Colors 1, 2 and 3... |
|
|
Using the small squares, sew five four patch units as shown at left, using all 1/4" seams and pressing to the darker sides... |

|
Sew the long end of a trapezoid to a Triangle B unit, pressing seam towards trap. Add a Color 3 Triangle A unit as shown at left, again pressing seam towards trap. Make four units like this. These should measure 4-1/2"... |

Sew Color 1 and Color 2 triangles to adjacent sides of four of the four patches, sewing on opposite corners first, then the remaining two sides.*NOTE: on two of these, the blue squares need to be horizontal rather than vertical. To make the center four patch, do the same thing, but using Color 3 triangles... on to Page 2! |
