The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Mollie's Choice Block! You will need to print out two copies of the template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper.

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

First cut the Color 1  6-7/8" x 13-3/4" strip into two 6-7/8" squares. Stack and cut these again on the diagonal...

Then mark and cut the Color 3  2-1/2" x 26" strip into four 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" rectangles...

Now speed piece the half square units by stacking the Color 6 and Color 2  3-7/8" x 7-3/4" strips right sides together. Mark the 3-7/8" square line and mark the diagonals as well, on the back of the top strip. Sew 1/4" above and below the marked diagonals, pivoting at the square line. Cut apart on the marked diagonal line, and on the square line. Press seam allowances towards the darker fabric. This will give you four half square units. These should measure 3-1/2" ...

Then mark and cut the Color 6  3-7/8" x 15-1/2" strip into four 3-7/8" squares. Stack and cut these on the diagonal to make eight half square triangles. Next do your paper piecing. ...now... on to Page 2!
