The first thing that I would
recommend that you do, is go to the Practice
Paper Piecing Page. When you feel comfy with paper
piecing, come on back and try a Minnesota Block! You will need to print out
one copy of the template page per block you want to make on very
lightweight paper. Fat Quarters are plenty! |
In addition to the fabrics for paper piecing, you'll need two
5-1/4" squares of navy and two of tan. Stack these, and cut them
twice on the diagonal to make eight quarter square triangles of
each...
Sew the navy and tan quarter square triangles together in pairs as
shown at left, then join the pairs to make the quarter squares. Make
four units like this. Trim these back to measure 4-1/2" if
needed...
After your paper piecing units are done, join them in rows with the
quarter squares we just made to complete the block!
...on to Page 2!
