** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Using the templates provided, cut the eight Color 1 half square triangles from a Color 1  4" x 13" rectangle. Cut twelve Color 2 half square triangles from a Color 2  3" x 15" strip. Cut one Color 3 square and four Color 3 half square triangles from a Color 3  6" x 16" rectangle...

*note from supplies list below that you could use fabric scraps for these

Sew a Color 1 and Color 2 small half square triangle right sides together using a 1/4" seam. Press to dark side. Make four units like that. Sew two Color 2 half square triangles to the sides of the larger Color 2 half square triangles to make a flying geese unit. Press towards corner triangles. Make four units like this...

Now sew the block's center unit by sewing two of the flying geese units to the sides of the cent. background square. Press seams towards center square. Sew half square units to the ends of the remaining two flying geese units, pressing seams towards ends. Add the top and bottom row to the center unit...

To complete the block, add corner background triangles to the previously made center. To do this, match up the centers of the slant triangle edges with the center of the center square edges. All done! ...on to Page 2!
