** Preparing
the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |
Start by using
the template to cut out four trapezoids from each of the Colors 1,2,3 and
4 strips. Then mark and cut the Color
5 3-1/2" x 42" strip into twelve 3-1/2" squares. |
To make unit 1 sew a Color 5
square to the left end of a Color 3 trapezoid. To make unit 2 sew another Color 5 square to
the right of a Color 2 trapezoid. To make unit 3 sew the next green square to the right
end of a Color 3 trapezoid. The unit 4 piece is a Color 2 trapezoid. You will be making
two of this block quadrant, so you will need two of each of these units...
Now sew unit two to unit one,
using a scant 1/4" seam. Press seam allowances towards the top unit... |
Next, sew the trapezoid end of
unit 3 to the square end of unit two from a point 1/4" within the left edge to within
1/4" from the end of the trap...on to Page 2! |
