This makes a 15" block and is partly paper pieced!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Ladies Delight Block! You will need to print out four copies of the template pages per block you want to make on very lightweight paper.

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Start by sewing the Color 2 and Color 3  3-1/2" x 14" strips right sides together along one long edge. Press seam to darker side. Cut this at 3-1/2" intervals to make four pieced side units...

Now stack the Color 2 and Color 5  4-1/4" x 8-1/2" strips right sides together and edges aligned. Cut at the 4-1/4" point. Stack the resulting squares in half and cut on both diagonals to make eight quarter square triangles of each. Sew the triangles together as shown at bottom left, pressing seams to darker sides. Make four of these pieced triangles, and four with the colors reversed (not shown)...

Next paper piece the corner units. Sew triangle units to opposite sides as shown at left. Lay out all the units and sew three horizontal rows. Join the rows to finish up the block!

...on to Page 2!
