** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |

Using the template provided cut out twelve petal shapes from the Color 1 5" x 15" strip, adding 1/8"- 3/16" seam allowances as you do this... |

|
Next mark and cut the Color 2 2-1/2" x 12-1/2" strip into five 2-1/2" squares... |
|
|
Now mark and cut the Color 3 5" x 10" strip into eight 2-1/2" squares. Mark and cut the Color 3 5" x 13" strip into four 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" rectangles... |

Using a scant 1/4" seam, sew together the center nine patch as shown at left, pressing all seams to the darker sides( shown in smaller scale here)... |

Now piece the block as shown at far left. Pin on and appliqué
the petal shapes using threads to match the petals. Once this is
done, so are you! :o)
