** Preparing the
Pieces
and Sewing the Block **

Start by sewing TWO nine patch
blocks as shown at left, using all scant 1/4' seams. Press row seams
in alternating directions. These should measure 6-1/2" when
done, trim them if needed... |

Now you have some choices! You
can paper piece this section...CLICK
HERE for the paper piecing template...or...you can cut the
triangles using regular templates-CLICK
HERE for regular templates... OR...you can cut the triangles
from two 3-7/8" squares of "dark" fabric, and the
center square is a 4-3/4" "light" square! Press seams
towards outer triangles. This should measure 6-1/2". Trim back
if needed... |

Now just piece the block! Make
rows, then sew the rows together, again using scant 1/4" seams.
Press row seams in alternating directions. All Done! :o)
