** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |

Start by cutting the Color 1 3-1/2" x 14" strip into four 3-1/2" squares. Next, use the template provided to cut one center square from the Color 1 5" square of fabric... |

Then cut the Color 2 3-1/2" x 14" strip into four 3-1/2" squares... |

Next cut the Color 3 3-1/2" x 26" strip into four 3-1/2" x 6-1/2" rectangles... |
|
|
Now stack the Color 2 and Color 3 4-1/4" squares right sides together. Using a cutter and ruler, cut them in half on each diagonal to make four Quarter Square triangles of each. Now use a scant 1/4" seam to stitch together pairs of contrasting triangles to make four pieced Half Square Triangles. Press seams to darker sides...on to Page 2! |
