Fat Quarters will be fine!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Flag and Heart Block! You will need to print out one copy of each template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You will also need one heart colored 2-1/4" square. I am calling the Upper Left flag = Flag A...Upper Right = Flag B... Lower Right  = Flag C... Lower Left = Flag D

Place the  heart colored 2-1/4" square against the lower right corner of Flag A, right sides together, and stitch in a scant 1/4" seam from the bottom edge, to a stopping point 1/4" from the end of the square. Back stitch to secure that end. Press seam towards Flag A...

Next sew Flag D to the bottom of the previous unit, pressing seam towards Flag D...

Sew Flag C to the right of that, pressing seam towards Flag C...on to Page 2!
