The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Fan and Star! You will need to print out one copy of each template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. A fat quarter of each fabric will be plenty!

After you have paper pieced the units....join them as shown at left, and then piece the block by sewing the two halves together!

The quilt, as shown here is four rows of four blocks each. It lays out wonderfully in sets of four blocks...actually a row of six blocks by two blocks deep would make a smashing table runner too!
