This makes an 8" block and is paper pieced ! Somehow I thought I had invented this block, but actually it's a 1930's Nancy Cabot Pattern!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Double Link Block! You will need to print out two copies of the template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You only need ONE black center small square. You also need two 2-5/8" squares cut in half on the diagonal to make four corner triangles!
Lay out all the paper pieced units as shown at left. I've labeled them so the piecing order makes more sense... :o)
Sew the small center square to the lower edge of unit B and press out the seam...
Referring to the labeled diagram above, next add unit C, then D, and lastly E. Now fold this together to line up the two remaining un-sewn seams. Stitch from inside edge to edge of unit in a 1/4 seam. Add corner triangles F, G, H & I, and you are all done!...on to Page 2!
