It's my rendition of a block from the Jane Stickle Quilt!

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

First mark and cut the Color 1   3-1/2" x 7" strip into two 3-1/2" squares...

The mark and cut the Color 2   3-1/2" x 7" strip into two 3-1/2" squares...

Now draft the petal shape. Paper and a compass would be good at this point! If you don't have a compass, you can use the edge of a can, or a small plate or glass! Draw a perfect 3-1/2" square. Measure in 1/4" from each corner and mark these points. With the point of your compass in the upper right corner, draw an arc that connects the lower right and upper left corners. With the point of your compass in the lower left corner draw an arc going from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. Cut this shape out, and stick it to a slightly larger piece of paper. Using a ruler and your compass again...add 1/4" for a seam allowance all around. Cut out this new shape, and it will be your petal template. You may transfer this to template plastic or cardboard if you like! Cut out two of each color petals. Press edges under 1/4"...

Now sew a Color 1  3-1/2" square to a Color 2  3-1/2" square. Press seam allowance towards one side. Make two of these, pressing the second on in the other direction...on to Page 2!
