** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Start by cutting the Color 1  3-1/2" x 14" strip into four 3-1/2" squares...

Then cut the Color 1  2-5/8" x  5-1/4" strip into two 2-5/8" squares. Do the same with the Color 2  2-5/8" x  5-1/4" strip...

Now  sew the Color 1 and Color 3  2" x 26" strips together along one long edge, right sides together and all edges aligned, using a SCANT 1/4" seam. Press seam allowance towards the darker fabric, and then cut apart at 6-1/2" intervals...

Cut the Color 3  3-7/8" x 7-3/4" strip into two 3-7/8" squares, and then cut again on the diagonal to make four triangles...

Sew each Color 1  2-5/8" square to a Color 2  2-5/8" square. Join these units to make the center four patch...on to Page 2
