This is a 13 1/2"block!

The perfect quilt to commemorate a wedding, or a family reunion...and bound to be a family heirloom ...easy too!

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Start by sewing a Color 2 and Color 1   2" x 16" strip right sides together along one long edge using a scant 1/4" seam alowance. Add another Color 1 strip below that. Press seams towards the darker fabrics. Mark and cut this at 2" intervals to make pieced strips A...

Then sew a Color 1 and Color 2  2" x 8" strip right sides together along one long edge. Add another Color 2 strip below that. Press seams towards the center strip. Mark and cut this at 2" intervals to make four pieced strips B...

Next make the corner nine patches, by sewing two A strips to either side of a B strip. Press seam allowances towards the center. Make four of these...

Now sew one Color 2  2" x 10" strip right sides together to a Color 1 2" x 10" strip along one long edge. Press seam allowance towards the darker fabric. Mark and cut at the 5" point...on to Page 2!
