Using the 36 Patch squares, the strip units, and the pieced blocks, sew together the body of the quilt top. To do this, sew horizontal rows, pressing seams in alternating directions by row. Join the horizontal rows. Now sew on the Color 1 3-1/2" x 43" (pieced) side strips, trimming excess from ends if needed. Then add the 3-1/2" x 36-1/2" strips to the top and bottom. Next sew on the Color 2 3-1/2" x 53" (pieced) side borders, trimming excess from ends if needed. Lastly add the 3-1/2" x 43" (pieced) strips to the top and bottom, trimming excess from ends if needed...and the Quilt Top is done! |
