 Sew a small Color 2 triangle to the shorter edge of four Color 1 trapezoids. Press seams towards traps. Make four units like this...

To make the Block B's sew together pairs of the two units we just made as shown at left...

Then piece the block by joining the Block A's and Block B's!

The quilt really IS conventional, and you can just imagine it being used as a utilitarian quilt throughout  the years!
