** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Start by marking and cutting the Color 6  4-1/2" x 18" strip into four 4-1/2" squares

Next mark and cut the Color 7  5-1/4" x 15-3/4" strip into three 5-1/4" squares. Stack these and cut them twice on the diagonal to make twelve quarter square triangles. You only need ten for this block...save the extras for another!

Cut each of the Color1, 2, 3, 4 and 5  5-1/4" squares twice on the diagonal to make four quarter square triangles of each. You only need two of each for this block....save the extras for another!

Sew Pairs of Color 1 and Color 7 quarter square triangles right sides together to makes pieced triangles as shown at far left. Join the pieced triangles to make the quarter squares. Make one of these in Color 2, 3, 4 and 5 as well. Trim these back to measure 4-1/2" if needed...on to Page 2!
