The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Christmas Star 2005! You will need to print out one copy of the A, B and C template pages per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. There are nine blocks in the quilt. You also need twenty-four of the tree templates for the quilt...

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Cut the Color 4  1-1/2" x 22"strip into four 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" strips...

Cut two Color 4  1-1/2" x 24-1/2" strips. Cut two Color 4  1-1/2" x 36-1/2" strips...

Cut two Color 1  1-1/2" x 36-1/2" strips. Cut two Color 1  1-1/2" x 38-1/2"strips...

Next, after paper piecing all units, sew three sections together to make each quarter of the block. Sew those together to complete the block. Make a total of nine blocks for your wall quilt or lap throw...
