          | | The first thing that I would
recommend that you do, is go to the Practice
Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper
piecing, come on back and try a Christmas Quilt 2002 block! You will need to print out
one copy of the template A page and four copies of the template B
page per block you want to make on very
            lightweight paper. |

          | |
			 |
 | After your units are paper pieced, join the red units as shown at far
left. Then sew the red and green units together as shown at near left! That's it for the block! If you'll be making the
quilt--Read On! :o) Make 15 star blocks for the quilt!

          | |
 | Make 15 alternate blocks next, shown here smaller than scale, to save
space.  To make these, place a Color 2  6-1/2" square
right sides together against the upper left corner of a Color 1
12-1/2" square. On the back of the Color 2 square, lightly draw
the diagonal. Sew on this drawn line. Cut off the excess seam
allowance, pressing remainder towards the corner triangle. Repeat this
with another Color 2 square on the opposing corner, and then two more
Color 2 squares on the adjacent corners... |

Now cut two strips of fabric 6-1/2" x 72-1/2" ( Piece two
pieces of 6-1/2" x 36-1/4" fabric for each unit) These will
be the side borders...on to Page
