** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |
|
|
Cut the Color 1 2" x 24" strip into twelve 2" squares... |
|
|
Then cut the Color 2 2" x 26" strip into four 2" x 6-1/2" strips... |
|
|
Now cut the Color 3 2" x 14" strip into four 2" x 3-1/2" strips, and the Color 3 4" x 19" strip into four 2" x 9-1/2" strips... |
|
|
Now sew Color 1 squares to the ends of TWO of each length Color 3 strips and TWO of the Color 2 strips. {Scant 1/4" seams now and forever!} Press seams to darker sides... |

Then sew two short Color 3 strips to the sides to the Color 1 3-1/2" square. Press seams to center. Add the two Color 3 strips-plus-squares to the top and bottom... |

|
Next sew two Color 2 strips to the sides of the previously made unit, pressing seams to center, and add the Color 2 strips-plus-squares to the top and bottom...on to Page 2! |
