Now why does this remind me of every crocheted afghan I ever saw?? :o)

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

First mark and cut the Color 1  3-1/2" x 26" strip into four 3-1/2" x 6-1/2" rectangles...

Then mark and cut the Color 2  3-1/2" x 26" strip into four 3-1/2" x 6-1/2" rectangles...

Now mark and cut the Color 3  7" x 28" strip into sixteen 3-1/2" squares...

Place a Color 3  3-1/2" square right sides together against the left end of a Color 1 rectangle, with outside edges aligned. (I show them staggered here just so you can see I am talking about two separate pieces of fabric) On the back of the square draw in the diagonal in the direction shown at top left. Sew on this drawn line. Cut off excess seam allowance and press remainder towards the corner. Repeat this with another Color 3 square on the opposite end, noting direction of diagonal. Make four units like this. Make four more units using Color 2 rectangles, noting direction of diagonals... on to Page 2!
