** Preparing the
Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |
Start by sewing two
Color 3 2-1/2" x 5" strips, two Color 2 2-1/2" x 5" strips, and the Color 4 5" x 6-1/2" strip into the unit shown at left. Use all SCANT 1/4"
seams. Now cut the unit at the 2-1/2" point to make two pieced
strips... |
Then sew two Color
2 2-1/2" x 5" strips, two Color 3 2-1/2"
x 5" strips, two Color 1 2-1/2" x 5" strips,
and one Color 4 2-1/2" x 5" strip together to
make the unit shown at left. Again cut this at the 2-1/2" point
to make two pieced units... |
Now sew three Color
1 2-1/2" x 5" strips and two Color 3 2-1/2" x 5" strips to make the next unit, again cutting this
in two at the 2-1/2" point to make two more pieced
strips... |
Next, mark and cut the Color 4
2-1/2" x 18" strip into two rectangles 2-1/2" x 6-1/2", and
two 2-1/2" squares... |
Then cut two Color 1 2-1/2" squares, and one Color 3 2-1/2" square...
