This makes a 7" block and is partly paper pieced!

Fat Quarters will be plenty!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Center-Nine Star Block! You will need to print out one copy of the template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You'll also need nine 1-1/2" squares of  fabrics for the nine patch!

Sew together the Center-Nine as shown at left, using all scant 1/4" seams. Press the top and bottom rows to the outside, and the middle row to the center.
Then, after the paper piecing units are done, sew them to the nine patch as shown at left...and that's the block! It's a great way to use up scraps! ...on to Page 2!
