This makes a 12" block and is paper pieced !

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try a Celtic Sunrise Block! You will need to print out four copies of the template A page, two copies of B, and one copy of C per block you want to make on very lightweight paper.A Fat Quarter of each fabric should be plenty!

Once all of your units are paper pieced, lay them out as shown at left. Sew the Triangle A units together in pairs. (1) Sew the trap units to the square units.(2) Add the triangle B units to the Trap-plus-square units. Sew the Triangle A Pairs to the Triangle B/trap/square units. Sew the four of these together to complete the block!

Here's a 3 block by 3 block wall hanging, with pieced border!
