the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |

Stack a Color 2 and Color 3 4-7/8"square, and using a rotary cutter, cut on the diagonal to make two half
square triangles of each... |

Stack the Color 1, Color 2 and
Color 3 5-1/4" squares. Using a rotary cutter, cut through all on the diagonal,
then cut through the resultant triangles again on the other diagonal to make four quarter
square triangles of each... |

|
Now speed piece the Color
1/Color 2 half squares, by stacking one 4-7/8" square of each right sides together
and all edges aligned. Mark the diagonal on the back of the top square, and sew a scant
1/4" above and below this marked line, then cut apart ON the marked line to give you
two half squares. Press seam to darker side. Trim to measure 4-1/2"
if needed... |
