** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Start by cutting the Color 1  2-7/8" x 8-1/4" strip into two 2-7/8" squares and ONE 2-1/2" square. Stack the two 2-7/8" squares together with all edges aligned and cut in half once on the diagonal to get four half square triangles. You only need three for this block, so can save the other for another block or project...

Now stack the Color 2,3,4 and 5  2-7/8" squares with all edges aligned and cut those in half once on the diagonal to get two half square triangles of each color. ( *I showed them staggered here so you can see what fabrics I am using-yours need to be aligned)

Then cut the Color 6  2-1/2" x 17-1/2" strip into seven 2-1/2" squares. Cut the Color 6  2-7/8" x 8-5/8" strip into three 2-7/8" squares. Stack those three 2-7/8" squares with edges aligned and cut once on the diagonal to make a total of six half square triangles. You only need five for this block, so you can save the extra one for another block or project...on to Page 2!
