Here's a smaller one...a 6" block, that is paper pieced!

A Fat Quarter of each fabric should be plenty!

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try Aunt Sukey's Choice! You will need to print out one copy of template A and two copies of the template B per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. You also need one  2-1/2" square of fabric for the center.

After you have all your pieced units done, join two corner units, right sides together, using the standard SCANT 1/4". Press seams towards the darker sides. Make four units like this...Join the units as shown at left. First makes rows, then sew the rows together, as always alternating pressing directions to keep the seams staggered....and there you have it!
Here's a quilt made from four blocks by five, with two narrow borders and a thin binding. ( This will be small...about 30" x 36"-so keep on piecing!)

Happy Quilting! Marcia :o)

Here's one that Joan made!  Melissa's!
