** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block **

Stack your Color 1 and 2 strips, right sides together, edges aligned...sew along one long edge, using a scant 1/4 " seam....press seam towards darker fabric...then, mark and cut this two color rectangle, into 3-1/2" x 6 -1/2" rectangles, as shown...

Mark and cut your Color 3 fabric into two 6-1/2" squares...

Mark and cut the Color 4 strip into four 3-1/2" squares...

 

Mark a diagonal line on the back of the Color 4  3-1/2" squares. Align one with the upper right corner of a Color 3  6-1/2" square, as shown, then sew ON the marked line. Cut away the excess fabric. Press the seam towards the darker fabric. Do the same with the other Color 4  3-1/2" square on the opposite side of the Color 3 square. Make two of these...

Sew together two Color 1+2 combos using a scant 1/4" seam, as shown. Make two of these...on to Page 2!
