This makes a 9" block and is paper pieced !

The first thing that I would recommend that you do, is go to the Practice Paper Piecing Page.  When you feel comfy with paper piecing, come on back and try an Argyle Square Block! You will need to print out one copy of each template page per block you want to make on very lightweight paper. Fat Quarters will be ample!

After paper piecing your units, sew together the two center triangle units. Now lay out all the units as shown at left. Sew three horizontal rows, then join these rows to complete the block!

Shown here on its side, this quilt is four blocks by five with plain borders!
