** Preparing
the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |
Let's begin by
stacking, marking and cutting the Color 1 and Color 2 3-7/8"
x 15-1/2" strips into four 3-7/8" squares. Then cut the
Color 1 3-1/2" x 28" strip into eight 3-1/2" squares... |
Cut the Color 1 and Color
2 3-7/8" squares on the diagonals to make eight half
square triangles of each... |
Then cut your Color 2
3-1/2" x 26" strip into four 3-1/2" x 6-1/2"
rectangles... |
Begin by stacking,
edges aligned, a Color 2 and a Color 1 half square triangle. Sew, using a SCANT 1/4"
seam. Press seam allowances towards your darker fabric. Make eight of these
units. Trim to measure 3-1/2" if needed... |
Then, place your Color 1 3-1/2" squares atop a Color 2 rectangle, with edges aligned
and right sides together. Mark a diagonal line on the back of the Color1
square. Sew
along this line, cut off the excess. Press seam towards darker fabric.. |
Then repeat the above
with another square on the other corner of the Color 2 rectangles. Make
four of these units...on to Page 2! |
